Exclusion

Exclusion is used to describe the process of keeping animals out of homes. Preventing future entry of animals requires the installation of barriers. There are many ways that animals gain access to one's home. Gable vents, roof vents and naturally occuring pathways lead into a home. Other entry points may be created when tenacious gnawers, such as squirrels, chew holes through wooden components of the house. One of the most vulnerable areas is called the "construction gap", where a gap exists between the roof decking and fascia boards. Entry points in this area are not usually visible from ground level because rain gutters block the view.

Once a home has had animals, the scent that is left behind will tell other animals that this is a suitable home in the future.

Exclusion is the key to keeping your home animal free now and for years to come.
